Magic Jack Install Info
First of all, if YOUR State is NOT listed above, you can still buy, use and save money with a Magic Jack! You pick the State and City you want from an updated list. Want a New York City (even "expensive" Manhattan!) or Los Angeles line? No Problem! My installation went VERY smooth! It took me a bit longer because I wanted to make a note of which USA States had an available local exchange (first 3 numbers of a local phone number), save some screen shots, etc. The last four numbers of the new local number you get during the install process will be automatically assigned by Magic Jack.
A key step during the install process is, of course, you MUST agree to the Magic Jack Terms Of Service. When you are so close to trying this amazing little gizmo out, I can't imagine anyone will decide NOT to agree to them.

Bottom line? It works and the voice quality (unlike Skype) is Excellent! If you have an extra phone around the house, that will probably work. If not, however, I would personally NOT suggest going out and buying the cheapest phone you can buy to use with a Magic Jack. From all of the info I read and research I did, I would AVOID the Emerson brand. I also read where several different people said their cordless Uniden phones sounded "perfect", so that MAY be a safer bet. Having one or more cordless home phones is more convenient compared to one wired one.
